My fire mitigation journey started in 2017 by clearing over 250 trees using a chainsaw and tractor while building my house. I spent a lot of time learning about FireWise methods and collaborated with the Clear Creek County building inspector to keep important/special trees while satisfying requirements of the county defensible space permit.
More recently, while creating additional defensible space and thinning trees on my property, my neighbor asked for help mitigating his property because his homeowner’s insurance was at risk of being canceled. That’s when Clear Creek Fire Mitigation began, born out of a desire to help my neighbors prepare their property for wildfire.
Born and raised in northern New England, I learned the core values of hard work and honesty from a young age. My journey began with a daily paper route in our small local town at just 10 years old, followed by summers spent haying for nearby farmers and helping my dad cut, split, and stack cordwood. These experiences instilled in me a strong work ethic that has shaped my life ever since. These core values guided me through my military service in the US Army, US Coast Guard, and beyond.
Always one to appreciate a solid day of hard work, I am eager to tackle the challenge of assisting my neighbors in safeguarding their properties and effectively managing their lands.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending quality time outdoors with my family hiking, camping, dirt biking, and mountain biking.
